The Maryland Department of Agriculture announced that its Healthy Soils Competitive Grant Fund opens on November 2, 2026 and accepts applications through January 8, 2027.
The program offers up to $50,000 to help Maryland farmers and organizations fund practices that reduce soil disturbance and increase cover, biodiversity and living roots over three years. This cycle expands eligible agroforestry practices, including alley cropping, hedgerow planting, windbreaks, silvopasture, and tree and shrub establishment.
